A New Panda Base in Sichuan Province?

The New Panda Base is Scheduled to Open in 2025. The first phase of Mianyang Giant Panda Base is planned to open in October next year. The Mianyang Base Project (Phase I) of the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center will construct a total of six functional areas, namely the entrance portal area, secret realm area, forest and valley area, bamboo forest screen area, supporting construction technology integration area, and disease control and rescue area. The project started in February 2024 and is scheduled to open in October 2025. Currently, the construction of the project is proceeding in an orderly manner. We will adhere to the principle of "quality," "speed," and "safety" going hand in hand, and fully promote the acceleration, improvement, and efficiency of project construction to ensure the smooth opening of the park as planned. The Panda Academy in China Will Start Enrolling Students in 2024

In July 2024, according to Xihua Normal University, the Giant Panda College will officially enroll students, and it is expected that 50 undergraduate students will enter the Wildlife and Nature Reserve Management major at the Giant Panda College for further studies. The Giant Panda Academy is a secondary college jointly established by the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Sichuan Province, China (Sichuan Provincial Administration of Giant Panda National Park) and Xihua Normal University, based on the School of Life Sciences at Xihua Normal University. 1. Development history of Giant Panda Academy: On January 15, 2019, the Giant Panda Academy was officially established. On September 25, 2023, the Giant Panda College, jointly established by Xihua Normal University and Sichuan Forestry and Grassland Bureau (Sichuan Provincial Administration of Giant Panda National Park), was unveiled at Xihua Normal University.
