Introduction to Panda Fu Bao

 Fu Bao, a female giant panda, was born on July 20, 2020, at Samsung Everland in South Korea. Her mother is the giant panda Ai Bao (known domestically as Hua Ni), and her father is the giant panda Le Bao (known domestically as Yuan Xin).

On July 20, 2020, at 21:39 local time, Hua Ni gave birth to a cub. Initially, Hua Ni was quite nervous as a new mother, but after several attempts, she successfully cradled the baby in her arms, comforting and licking her. Upon examination by experts, the cub was identified as a female, measuring 16.5 cm in length and weighing 197g.

This marked the second panda cub born overseas in 2020, following the one in the Netherlands, and the first giant panda cub born in South Korea. From September 22 to October 11, Samsung Everland conducted a public naming campaign for the panda cub, offering four candidate names: Chao Bao, Xing Bao, Xing Xing, and Fu Bao.

On November 4, Samsung Everland announced that the first giant panda cub born in South Korea would be named "Fu Bao."

According to the cooperation agreement on giant panda conservation and research signed between the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center and the Hong Kong Ocean Park , a pair of giant pandas named "Anan" and "Keke" from the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center will depart for Hong Kong on September 26th to settle in the Ocean Park, becoming the third pair of giant pandas welcomed by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
